A report about Apple’s plans for major improvements to watchOS 10 surfaced about a month ago, but without further details. However, the new information reveals a bit more about the future Apple Watch software and what to expect during this year’s Apple WWDC conference.
according to bloombergApple will bring back widgets and make them a core feature in watchOS 10. Users will be able to browse interactive and contextual widgets. The new interface will likely resemble the Siri watch face and widgets that were introduced in iOS and iPadOS. The report also states that the Digital Crown will be used to open widgets instead of sending you to the home screen.
Additionally, the company is rumored to be working on a new AI-powered health coaching service called Quartz. So we’ll likely see some deep integration with Quartz as well.
This will be the biggest watchOS release since its inception, so watchOS 10 will likely steal the spotlight at this year’s WWDC. Or maybe a mixed reality headset will be the star of the show? We’ll have to wait until WWDC 2023.
