Think Monetized Kids News and other VC news

Wireless

Meta monetizes the kids as much as the rest of us. But this week, the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) alleged that Meta violated a 2020 order to protect children on the site in addition to violating the agency’s Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act. Not only will the FTC throw another financial slap on the wrist, it’s moving to completely ban Meta from monetizing children at all. This is the TechCrunch podcast where we talk about the most important news in tech with the people who cover it. This week, I’m joined by TechCrunch reporter Devin Coldewey to talk about whether Meta’s cavalier approach to compliance is finally coming to an end.
