With enhanced comfort, improved audio, and better active noise cancellation, the Sony WH-1000XM5 offers a compelling mix of features for the price.

It’s not a huge departure from the previous model, however Sony WH-1000XM5 It’s still our favorite pair of noise canceling headphones. The XM5s improve on all the features that made the XM4s so great by providing active noise cancellation, improving voice call quality, and enhancing the overall sound of already excellent headphones. While the lack of new features is a bit disappointing, the Sony XM5s remain one of our top recommendations for anyone looking for an excellent pair of noise canceling headphones.

Although we’ve seen them drop as low as $348 in the past, the only notable deal currently available on XM5s is at Walmart, where you can buy them for as low as $389. Note, however, that they are sold by a third party seller (even though they are shipped by Walmart).

The Beats Studio 3 features the Apple Wireless Chip W1, allowing them to quickly connect and switch between any Apple devices you may own. The wireless over-ear headphones connect via Bluetooth and also support 3.5mm for wired connection.

While we can’t recommend these to anyone outside of the Apple ecosystem, the Beats Studio 3 Wireless It can be a decent alternative if you want a pair of over-ear headphones for your Apple device but find the AirPods Max too pricey. The Beats Studio 3 is comfortable to wear, folds inward for easy storage, and features Apple’s last-generation W1 wireless chip, which still allows you to quickly connect and switch between Apple devices. Note, however, that unlike those built with Apple’s newer H1 chip, the headphones lack hands-free Siri support. It also charges via a Micro USB port instead of a Lightning or USB-C port.

The Beats Studio 3 is showing their age at this point — the headphones launched in 2017, after all — but they’re currently on sale on Amazon starting at $169.99 (AU$180). You can also buy them in select colors for $10 more at Best Buy and Target.
