In a lengthy update shared with Netflix’s Geeked Twitter account today, Oda opened up about what it’s been like working with Tomorrow Studios and Netflix on… one piece And how, although everyone involved in the new series “understands each of the characters,” they also “come from very different cultures,” which apparently led to some frustrations caused by “different codes, skill sets, and goals.”
“If we’re going to do that, I want to be able to supervise things while I’m still active.”
“Sometimes it can be frustrating for both sides,” Oda said. “I felt like, ‘We’re all trying to get to the same place, so how can we not be on the same wavelength?'” “There was even a time when I thought, Is foreign production possible?!”
As far as concern one pieceIt was a cross-cultural friction. Oda, 48, now says, “Every entity involved works in sync.” He also assured everyone that the entire crew was working hard to get the series ready for the first time – something he personally wanted to be involved in as the series’ creator.
“Given my life expectancy, I think this is the last chance to make it happen one piece Oda said. “If we’re going to do this, I want to be able to supervise things while I’m still active. That’s why I agreed to the live-action adaptation of one piece Back in 2016.”
Oda has been open about the negative effects his work schedule has had on his physical health and has expressed confidence in his teammates’ abilities to complete various events one piece Projects he was getting sick or going through in the midst of production. Speaking of the Netflix show, Oda praised the streamer for the “tremendous resources” that were poured into the production and promised that it would “not release (one piece) until I feel satisfied.”
