Yes, that was April 11th. But for some strange reason, they may be the national pet Month. No pet parent would complain about another excuse to shower their fur babies with attention—especially when that excuse comes with a bunch of sales from your favorite retailers. Chewy and Petco both offer discounts or gift cards on purchases of certain amounts while Amazon is in the midst of an all-dedicated Pet Day sale (which actually lasts for two days).

Amazon is kicking off National Pet Month with a two-day sale dedicated to all fur baby products. You can think of it as Prime Day for Pets — except for the fact that, unlike Prime Day, you don’t have to be a Prime member to take advantage of Amazon Pet Day discounts. Like the Chewy and Petco sales, Amazon has some great deals on everyday supplies like food, treats, and trash.
But if you’re looking to splurge rather than restock, this is the place to find discounts on items that may be left out (or even out of stock) at other retailers, like Merrick’s or Purina food or automatic trash cans.
With the current Chewy gift card promotion, spending $100 (on eligible items) is like spending only $70 when you open a free $30 gift card. Although purchases from select excluded brands won’t count toward the $100 mark, tons of items are already on sale.(Opens in a new tab) Brands like Voyager, Greenies, and Kong are eligible. The $30 Gift Card can be applied to anything (just like any Chewy Gift Card). Use code SHOP to take advantage of the promotion through May 8, and enjoy free one-to-three-day shipping on orders over $49.
For every $100 purchase, Chewy will also donate 1 pound of food and supplies to Greater Good Charities.
Petco
The Petco’s May promotion doesn’t require you to spend a lot to get a reward. A drop under $50 secures a 15% discount on your total purchase while a spend of $80 or more raises the discount to 20%. The promotion applies directly to your cart as long as you shop with participating brands (click ‘see details’ for few exceptions). Savings per order are limited to $20.
