Lava’s upcoming Agni 2 5G will be the first smartphone to rock MediaTek’s “new” Dimensity 7050 SoC, which was unveiled yesterday. We say “new” because it’s identical to the Dimensity 1080 that launched last October. It’s the same chip, now with a different name! Still, Lava wants to brag.
While we wait for the company to make the Agni 2 official, a list of its most important specs was leaked today, along with a hands-on photo.
The phone is rumored to have an AMOLED screen with an in-display fingerprint sensor, Android 13 on board, 8GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, and a 50MP main camera on the back.
Agni’s first was released in November of 2021, so its successor has definitely taken its toll. Agni was powered by Dimensity 810, which means the new model should offer impressive performance, relatively speaking. The RAM is the same, the storage has been doubled, while the main camera moves from 64MP to 50MP. The original Agni had an LCD screen and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, so its successor definitely seems to have good improvements in all respects.
thanks for the tip!
