
the Recovery project-DrThought has long been lost since its dissolution and crash of decades earlier in the Star Trek: GenerationsAnd that was one of the biggest surprises Picardfinal season. But we now know that parts of the ship have made their way home for recovery, and this poignant new brief imagines how.
Created in partnership with Roddenberry ArchiveCloud graphics company OTOY has released a short epilogue to generations appropriately titled renewal. It’s short and sweet, and well worth the few minutes it takes to watch.
Using similar technology the company is used to Recreate “3D” Star TrekThe original pilot“The Cage”, the short book has two great losses generations: destroy project-D, where the plate division of Viridian III fell, and the death of Admiral James T. Kirk. It’s a poignant coupling, as we see Damaged project Starfleet staff work on the saucer, while Spock (a digital recreation using Leonard Nimoy’s footage and scans) wistfully retrieves Kirk’s badge.
Knowing now that the project-D will Back to Jordi At the Fleet Museum, restored just in time to save the galaxy from the Borg for the last time, it’s a fascinating glimpse into the stories that happened decades in between. Star Trek date.
