Lava made its official Blaze 5G release back in October last year, and then followed it up with a 6GB RAM version in February. Now it looks like the company is ready to improve the formula even further, with the Blaze 1X 5G.
The new model is already listed on Lava’s official website, although it wasn’t announced during an event – nor through a mere press release.
Blaze 1X 5G comes with a 6.5-inch 90Hz 720 x 1600 LCD display, MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC, 50MP main camera flanked by two decorative shooters, one 2MP, one VGA (!), 8MP selfie snapper, 6GB of RAM RAM (with support for 5GB of “virtual RAM”), 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage expandable via microSD card up to 1TB, and a 5,000mAh battery with support for 15W charging — though the onboard charger is 12 watts.
The phone disappointingly runs Android 12 from 2021. It measures 165.3 x 76.4 x 8.9mm and weighs 207g. It has a fingerprint scanner and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It will be offered in two shades: Glass Green and Glass Blue.
Compared to the original Blaze, the new model has a slightly smaller screen (6.5 inches versus 6.52 inches) and faster charging capability (15W versus 10W). Those are the only differences, which make it a somewhat confusing release. There’s no price to talk about just yet, but we wouldn’t be surprised if it goes for the exact same amount as its predecessor, which currently fetches around INR 12,000 for the 6GB RAM version.
