Over decades of performing on stage and screen, LuPone has astounded audiences with her sharp wit, tremendous singing voice, and refusal to suffer for fools. But what do you think audiences and colleagues expect when you’re in a production?
“I’m a band player, right? I’m a director actress. I just want to do the work,” she began. “But I know that when I sing a song, I’m going to get a reaction. I just know that, because how many times does that have to be proven?”
