TL; DR
- Google releases Android 14 1.1 beta.
- This minor update fixes a number of bugs that appeared in the original beta.
- There are no new features, at least we haven’t noticed any yet.
Google launched the first Android 14 beta earlier this month. However, things did not go smoothly with this launch, as users complained about several bugs. Today, Google is releasing a simple fix for these issues.
Since Android beta 1.1, this minor update addresses five major bugs. The changelog is copied below:
- Fixed an issue where the system UI would crash when trying to access the wallpaper and style screen either through the Settings app or by long pressing from the home screen.
- Fixed some issues that prevented fingerprint unlock from being used.
- Fixed an issue where the status bar would not display the mobile network.
- Fixed an issue that prevented the SIM or eSIM from being detected or activated in some cases.
- Fixed an issue where the lock screen would display a message with a placeholder for an unresolved string when Smart Lock was enabled.
So far, we haven’t discovered any new features in this version of Android. However, once we get a little more time with her, we might figure something out. Be sure to revisit this page later to see if there are any updates.
